FIRE ALARM SYSTEMS: INSPECTION AND TEST SCOPE OF WORK (NFPA 72) 
 
1. Control equipment tested to verify correct receipt of input and output signals, and circuit supervision. 
2. Test battery charger output. 
3. Inspect batteries for corrosion, leakage and terminal connections. 
4. Perform a load voltage test on batteries equal to full alarm load. 
5. Verify correct operation and identification of remote annunciators. 
6. Check elevator recall function. 
7. Verify functionality of all audible and visual devices. 
8. Inspect Lamps and LEDs. 
9. Perform functional test of smoke detectors and restoration of heat detectors. 
10. Perform functional test of duct detectors by remote test switch only. 
11. Perform functional test of manual pull stations. 
12. Perform functional test of all supervisory signal and valve tamper devices. 
13. Perform functional test of all water-flow alarm devices. 
14. Verify alarm, trouble and supervisory signal receipt and restoration at monitoring station. 
15. Compile a complete report of results.
